Surgery yesterday

Postby Crazyderek » 13 Dec 2011, 13:02

After off and on battle with fissure for 2yrs I decided after my latest and longest bout of 2+ months to look into the surgery. My GI did not want me to do it until we went through a the Nitro routine. I also had chemo 3 months for a blood cancer and it caused me to be very constipated and then bad diariaha that caused it to come back
I have been in serious pain and spasms for 3-6 hrs after BM taking stool softeners and eating very good diet but no relief.
Had the LIS yesterday in Beverly Hills Went very smooth and I was back home in less than 3hours. Felt no pain when I woke up or last night This AM I am sore but had a BM that was very soft with no pain but a little blood on the stool and on the paper. Took a bath and just relaxing. I will post update tomorrow

Day 2
Had a good nights rest and woke up and had BM. Agiain very soft and no pain just a little blood on paper. Took bath and had some oatmeal
Had 2nd BM ( this is common for me) larger but still soft and no pain. Took another bath and feeling good. I am swollen as the CRS said I would be and a little itchy I am hoping it is starting to heal as that is a good sign
All in all I have to say this has not been any where near the big deal I has thought it would be so cross my fingers it will stay that way

Day 3 same as Day 2
today is Day 4 and I had a little bit of a hard start to my BM this am. It hurt just a tad more of a stretch and since I have been eating bad ( some cookies and Ice cream) the BM had a streak of blood on it all the way down but no blood on paper. Just a tiny bit of pain for 5 minutes after and now im fine. The bleeding was from an area that is not near the fissure so I assume it is the incision so I will beb ack to a very bland diet for the next 2 weeks and just in time for Christmas no less.
did anyone else have this issue ?

To say I am happy with the results would be a major understatment
I have somewhat forgotten all the HELL I was in
still taking it easy
my surgeon was also an expert from what I saw online
I am headed back for my follow up will post results later
hang in there it will be a breeze
