Anal fistula hell

Postby Jimjam » 15 Jan 2012, 18:13

Hi All,
I am due to go in for fistula surgery in the next few weeks and I would like to know what excuses people have used when they have needed the time off work after the surgery but have not wanted to admit to their employer what they are actually having done. It is highly embarrassing and I don't want to have to discuss this with my manager or have it on my work sick records so I would like to know what other people say?
Thanks, Jim

Don't say anything. Tell them you are having surgery and you will be needing time off to get well. They will ask what is going on, just say a personal matter. Although I work in a small office 1 dr and 3 other girls, they all knew what was going on with me and couldn't wait for me to have surgery b/c alll I talked about was my a$$. LOL

I agree the truth is the best, but it is also your option if you want anyone to know. It really is none of their business, that is your right.

HR departments do not have to know what surgery you are having in detail. The doctor has to write the report; you don't have to say anything. Good luck! Image
