microscopic fissure?

Postby beachgirl » 20 Jan 2012, 16:44

my crs finally "found" or spotted a fissure - i've been in pain since sept. of this year.
she said it was microscopic, a tiny red spot or something. before that she couldn't even see one. it was just that i fit all the symptoms. spasms, pain profile, etc. - oh and got it from a hard BM to start with. plus i don't think it's the first time either. but not sure of anything anymore.
a bodyworker i saw told me i have pelvic floor muscles out of place and they are causing my spasms. so it's chicken and egg. spasms or fissure... which goes first?
and question: does that mean i am less likely a candidate for lis? this is all so confusing.
thanks

hmm... i think whether u r a candidate for lis, probably only ur crs can answer u, given that u also have pelvic floor muscles complication..
what are the creams for spasms that u've tried?
are u taking a gd diet now to make sure the bm is soft?

How long have you had your fissure?? Usually, after 6-8 weeks it is considered chronic, and some kind of intervention is needed. While you are having spasms the fissure remains open and will not heal. Did the CRS give you any creams or anything?

How was the fissure found? Was it using a camera or an ultrasound?

I've heard that the headaches from nitro will lessen after a week or two.

And not everyone gets a headache from Nitro, so I have heard. I believe that Diltiazem has the best result (now where did I read that), but I have tried Nifedipine which is also a calcium channel blocker and it did nothing for me. Also, when I saw the CRS that I saw last year, he could not find a fissure, even with an anuscope...
I am still on the research for S.A.D. and just hoping it can be done with all the scar tissue I have.
Best of luck, Beachgirl.
