Don't let that scare any newbies. The first was a General Practitioner who decided that the 2 fissure tags were thrombosed hemorrhoids and cut them open to get the clot out, Surprise! There was not one. Then she held me hostage for 2 weeks before she referred me to the CRS so I would be healed enough that he would not realize she had screwed up. It took me stepping away from the pain and clearing my head of all the dope she had me on to figure this out. My CRS seems to be a good doctor it is just 3 months after the surgery the fistula I had abscessed. My BEST advise is got to a Colan rectal surgeon!!!! Thankyou. I also just realized that no one on this board knows my name. Cathee...hey yall guess where I am from?

Best of luck Cathee,
3rd time lucky always works for me. The only problem is you have to get through the first two to get to the third!

This is my 2nd AF, first was about a year ago. Nitro fixed that one, but this one has been much worse. Immediate care facility diagnosed me with internal hemmies originally, prescribing hydrocortisone suppositories and Norc 10-325 pain killers. Felt a bit better for two days, then much much worse. My GP gave me 2% Nitro-BID and Nucynta-ER, a Class 2 narcotic pain killer. This immediately got me warning messages on these forums as being far too strong a version of Nitro-glycerin ointment. Once I got to my CRS he took one look, put me on a custom 0.3% Nitro ointment and scheduled me for LIS. My surgery is this coming Monday. I agree, only deal with a CRS when it comes to this.

Cathee, I hope all has been going well for you. I had my LIS and am now four days into the healing process. Although there is still some pain associated with BMs, it is nowhere near this fissure's worst, and outside of that, I'm only experiencing minor discomfort.
BTW, I should note that I too have experienced back and leg pain, but that is from a compressed, herniated disc and resultant Sciatica. Not having any lung pain. Take care and update when you can.
