Flesh in the open wound

Postby runke » 15 Apr 2012, 11:56

Hi, I had my surgery for an anal fissure almost 10 weeks ago. The doctor cut as much flesh as the size of my little finger out. The open wound is healing ok so far, but in the middle of that wound there is flesh coming out, like a wall that separates the left and right side of the wound.
I couldn’t find anything on google to this, so I wanted to ask if you know what is means or what is is.
I think I should go to the doctor next week.
Greetings

Hi Runke,
Its granulation tissue - basically this is the tissue that grows in open wounds and is a sign of healing. It can be a little tender at first but eventually the skin will seal up and you will no longer see the tissue.
Take a look at the picture of the finger in this link - does the wound look like this?
