I know everyone is different but just wondering if most people have just one nice BMW a day here? Before all this started I used to have one a day, but with everything I'm taking(miralax, colace) I'm up to three times. I feel this may be really irritating the healing I'm trying to do.

Seriously mine always varies between 1 and 3. Now that I'm eating correctly, usually 2. If it's irritating, you need to work on your wiping technique. They usually have courses for that at your local community college.
Ok, seriously again, I do not "wipe", I blot usually twice, maybe 3 times max with Charmin Ultra strong. Then I blot (not wipe) with either a baby wipe or a very damp paper towel. My preference is the paper towel. Then, it's straight to the tub for some soaking.

I am 3 weeks post op...fissurectomy and LIS...for the first 2 weeks it was russian roulette as far as my bm's per day..i think I had more because I was trying to figure out how to eat and not hurt going to the bathroom. Now, I think I am getting routine. I go a couple times in the morning...usually one formed regular bm then one or two loose bm's. I still havent figured it all out but if you read up on soluble and insoluble fiber it may help...I feel like I am getting back to normal (i dont know if I was normal ever which is prob why I am here!). Each day I try to figure out what works and what doesnt. Good luck!

Flanders, I most of the time go twice in the morning..2nd time is usually within an hour to hour and a half after the first This I find very frustrating and just wish it would all pass in the first go around. Just haven't figured out how to change it. And like bill said wiping should be done with caution. I only use unscented baby wipes and blot, blot, blot...no wiping at all, then, I too go straight to the tub.

Lol, I wish I drove a BMW...Pontiac for me. I don't wipe, I use my peri bottle from when I had my baby last November. Can just squirt warm water on the area, very helpful. Thanks for the replies. I'd really like to get it down to two or one if it stayed soft enough. Guess I'll just have to keep working on the right mix.

once usually in the morning, but sometimes twice or three times. I listen to my body, and if it says go at all.. i just find a bathroom quick. I feel like more is better with bms... smaller they are, the more i like it... the big ones make me nervous.

1 a day, right after work. But it depends on your diet. I used to go 3 -4 times a day, but i could tell that wasn't helping. It would feel "incomplete". Once I made some changes to my diet, the 1 a day is like clockwork.
As far as technique, I've had success using warm water right BEFORE and then immediately after a BM. Then 45 min to an hour later, going back and blotting with soft toilet paper.

I noticed a big difference when I started taking prune juice, and again later when I started taking Miralax.
Before fissure, I used to only go once, maybe twice. The prune juice made me go about 6hrs after I took it, no matter what time of day or how many times I had it. When I first took Miralax, I started pooing like 4-5 times a day and that SUCKED. But after a few days like that and a steady dose and steady diet, my body went back to pooing twice a day. Sometimes you have so much crap inside you it can just take a few days to clear it all out!

It just goes to show how different everyone's body is. Thanks for letting me know, it helps to bounce things off other people. I actually stopped the miralax and am going to try benefiber powder and colace to see if I can still make it soft enough but not have 3 or 4 BM in one day.

Some days I have 4 of them... One in the morning, if I don't have to start working early, one in late evening and in between. No rules, some days it could be 2 even if I eat the same. When I tryed to starve myself on a clear liquid diet I still had 3-4 BM, each of a grape size, but very painful and followed by spasms (9 out of 10!) till next BM. I really understand your frustration, I live it.
