Hi iam a forty yr old female with a chronic anal fissure, i have been on the waiting list now for a while, iam finally booked in for surgery next thursday the 7th of june.
iam really scared, but i cant handle this pain any more.
i was wondering does anyone else have pain in their vagina area and up into their stomach as well? and also my tail bone is always sore.
iam currently taking panadine forte for the pain and dizapan to try and relaxe the muscles, and slippery elm.
if anyone who has the operation let me know what iam in for and how long it takes to heal.
i just want my life back :(
thinking of everyone else going thru this it is rediculas that something so small can be so painful Image

Hi Harro,
So sorry you've been suffering, but excited for you to have the surgery and put an end to the whole ordeal of a chronic fissure Image
I've haven't had any of the other painful symptoms you've described...so not sure what they are or if they at all could be attributed to the fissure Image . Sorry I can't be of any help there.
I did have lis though...what I experienced was pain and discomfort for the first few days, but I could definitely tell that it was from the surgery itself..the fissure pain/spasms had stopped :D . The meds prescribed to me at the hospital I only took for 1 1/2 days...after that I only required advil to keep me comfortable. The first week, I mostly rested...but was absolutely able to get up and walk around slowly, it was sitting that was most uncomfortable. I continued to eat as I did before surgery, and also continued with the sitz baths.
I like to recommend at least one week for recovery time... it just takes some time because of the area that you are healing and being how it's used for nearly everything we do...it is kind of expected that it needs some extra rest and relaxation initially to begin the healing process.
If you can set aside two weeks for recovery, imo, that would be the ultimate amount of time to get you well on your way to healing Image .
Best Wishes to you and please keep us updated with your progress Image

Hi
I had pain radiating to a half of my vagina, on the side where fissure was, don't remember about stomach. Was so scary having sex after, but fortunatly it does't work the other way. :D
Good luck with surgery! By the way, what kind of surgery?

HELP

Postby *P*A*I*N* » 01 Jun 2012, 04:33

Hello Everyone, I am New to the Forum stuff. I am a 46 yr old female who has a anal fissure. I have been having trouble for well over a year. I could not handle it anymore, went to Dr. who exmained me and ordered a Colonoscopy. Did that and showed Anal Fisssure Healing. It has since reopened. He at first told me it was from Spinter Spasms. Called again the other day because of pain called me in some anusol. I do not have hard stools, I take a Stool softner and it works well. It does not matter if my stools are soft or hard I am down and out for awhile afterwards. Anyone with some information for me, PLEASE< PLEASE let me know.

Hi Harro. I had Botox and I feel worse. I thought it would be my salvation. As far as sex goes... What is that? It is so painful I can't even go there. My poor husband. Im going to have a lot of catching up to do in that department. I've had vaginal issues as well so it's all bad on that "end". I'm thinking of surgery but I'm petrified. Please keep me posted. how long did you wait before coming to terms that surgery was your only option? I've tried a lot of stuff and to no avail. I think I'm responsible for the drought in my area I've been drinking so much water! I will keep you in my prayers and hope your surgery goes well! Speedy recover

went to the local gp as soon as he looked down there before even doing the enternal he said i had a chronic fissure and had to have surgery :(, the the enternal nearly put me thru the roof. Image
