I am a male 51 and this started a year ago, the first month felt like there was a little man with a broom stick walking behined me, just everytime I turned around he wasn't there. After the first few months it ruptured, thank God, lots of relief but I saw every color the primary color group over the next 4 months. I mentioned this to my Dr and he said we know what this is and you need to take this, we like to Toss pills at everything, after that didn't work the Dr's turn at bat. Two weeks I go in for surgey, I knwo what to expect the night before because a few years ago I had the scope thingy with the flash light camera air hose and jack hammer, never in my wildest dreams did I ever think a sexy little nurse telling me to get un dressed and slip on the flowery dress could be such a.....well so much for that fantasy that is ruined. OK here is the question, What happens after surgery? How long before I am whole, what should I except, time frames and such.
Thanks in advanced

If you are having Fissurectomy/LIS, expect to feel bad for up to 2 weeks...at least. Everyone is different and I guess the severity of your fissure dictates how quickly you will heal after surgery. I would suggest having someone around the first couple of days if possible to help with keeping you fed and hydrated as you wont feel like moving. After a couple days, its slow going, but you will need to get up and moving a bit anyway. Good luck!

Marquis...are you going in for LIS or for external hemorrhoid surgery..since you mentioned you got relief after it ruptured and this could very well be due to external hemmis....I thinks it's hemorrhoidectomy that will be performed on you.

Good luck with your surgery! I hope all goes well and you heal quickly and can put all of this in the past and move on.
