Hi Steve i'm back again too, been away for a while like you, (relatively pain free) now i'm suffering again. Feels like a new fissure? no idea why? this thing sucks huh!!!
I'm back to feeling about 90% better, been using Rectogesic daily. Idol, I know what you mean, I'm almost positive that I've had a re-occurrence of my old fissure or even a new one, I just think that we're prone to them?
andy, I would be willing to have a 2nd LIS if this thing doesn't correct itself but several CRS' have given it the thumbs down as it could increase the risk of incontinence, to be honest I don't think they're remotely interested in any case!!
Cheryl, Also very interested in following your progress with the CBT :)
Chronic Fissure diagnosed December 2011 Healed by Diltiazem around Feb 2013 Anal Fistula followed burst abscess in June 2012 2 internal troublesome piles remain & suspected, but undiagnosed, ongoing Levator Ani type symptoms & flare-ups
Steve/Ever, I will try to share about my CBT experience. Waiting right now to get an appointment to get started with it. I don't like taking this A/D on a LT basis, so CBT is what my psychiatrist suggested that I try. Whenever I have butt problems, I "flashback" to formerly bad (traumatic) times I had with that. It is almost like PTSD for me--cold sweats, anxiety, etc.
I totally understand where you're coming from cheryl, my recent setback triggered allsorts of emotions and without my AD's I would be less able to cope, like you, I don't want to keep taking AD's LT, but I've been taking them for 8 months now so I guess that's kinda long term already, I just don't want to rely on them forever, you know?
