Suffering likewise!

Postby olebutt » 28 Oct 2012, 12:37

Hi
I am new to the forum & so appreciate the information & sharing the pain.
I am 3 months into this ( sitting on a knife pain!),had 2 drs tell me it was a fissure . saw colon rectal surgeon the other day who said he couldnt see it! more like an ulceration & scheduled me for anoscopy & sphincterotomy. I have had IBS for 20 years & am currently on chemo since jan 2012 for liver ca ..surgery for that was less painful than this fissure pain!
Other than the excruciating pain, I also have strong lower back pressure & pelvic pressure as well as thigh pain when the spasms occur.Have been doing sitz, colace, citrucel & Diatizem ointment with occasional relief.has anyone else experienced the back& pelvic pressure?

Hi olebutt,
I am so sorry you are having to deal with all this pain whilst dealing with chemo, can't imagine how stressful that must be!
I have had a lot of pelvic pressure. I have been put on pelvic floor rehab treatment for 6 months. The doc said all the muscles in my pelvic floor were so weak that everything was sagging down and putting pressure on my colon and hindering any fissure recovery. It might be worth asking your doc about it.
