Hi just joined this forum and just wanted to ask about other peoples experience with anal fissure.
Im age 22 and had anal fissure for 4 years. I think its anal fissure the doctor told me that i have a tear on my anus and he gave me a cream to use, but since i was young i really didnt use it alot and for the past 4 years i had it. Main i reason i ignored it was because sometimes i see tiny bright red blood on the tissue, i never felt pain during or after a BM. Only time i feel pain is when i have multiple diarrhea and the pain its not even that bad, so my question is will i have problem's if i leave it alone like this or will it just stay the same?

Hi, so sorry you've suffered for so long. I've had mine for 4 years too. Unfortunately a chronic fissure is very hard to heal because it has built up lots of scar tissue. You've come to the right group, so many helpful people here. They can tell you what works and what doesn't. Keep you bms soft and easy to pass. Fiber and miralax or milk of magnesia are really good. Be careful of bulking fibers like metamucil. If you have an active tissue metamucil tends to produce larger stool which in turn stretches the area too much. Most will be trial and error. What works for some doesn't work for others. Try coconut oil, I just started using it and I love it. Lubricate before a bm and that helps, drinks lots of liquids too. Hope you find some comfort here.
