Not sure about the title

Postby Euronius » 20 Jan 2013, 19:08

Hello everyone.
I came across this forum twice, as I was googling for solutions about anal fissures and sphincter spasms.
I am a 22 years old male, and I've had problems with hemorrhoids in the past. Life was unbearable, and I used to dread the time I had to go to the bathroom. But long story short, the problems seemed to go away, at least for a while.
Now they've started again. I have chronic constipation, and every time I have a bowel movement, it is associated with pain on a certain spot and a pool of blood afterwards. I am aware that even a single drop of blood in water will look much more than that, but believe me, the amount of blood is scary considering it's coming from a possible anal fissure. I have not been to the doctor, I have come to this diagnosis from the helpful internet. And I have to use the digital stimulation to fully empty my bowels.
Then after I'm all done, everything seems to be okay for maybe an hour. But then my anal area seems to tighten and the pain starts. It lasts for hours, which seem like days. I just recently came across this "sphincter spasms" term and I think this may be it.
My questions are: Are all these problems coming from an anal fissure and sphincter spasm after I'm done? Or is it really sphincter spasm I have? If not, what are the symptoms for it?
Are there any home treatments or over the counter drugs or creams I could use for this, because I am too embarrased to go to the doctor. I currently started using a substitute of Preparation H because I thought I had internal hemorrhoids again, but I may be wrong. Should I continue using it, even if it's not hemorrhoids again?
And lastly, am I at risk of blood loss or infection? Considering blood is coming out from such a... unclean place, so to say.
I know these are way too many questions, but you have to understand me, my life is unbearable right now. Thank you so much for your time reading this.

Hi Euronius,
I am sorry you are going through all this pain right now... But I am glad you have found this forum.
You really do need to go see a dr... I know it's embarrassing but remember, they have seen it all before. They will be able to properly diagnose you with what is wrong and give you the right treatment.
Try to stay calm..... Do you take any type of stool softener? Drink plenty of water... Eat a healthy diet.... These can all help with constipation.

Hello Owmybum,
Thank you. I am glad I found this place too. It feels good to finally be able to tell somebody about this problem of mine.
Yes, back then when I had problems with hemorrhoids I used some sort of tea, that would send me running to the bathroom after 6 hours of drinking it. Maybe I should use that again.
And yes, you're right. I have to go to the doctor sooner or later, but I thought I could get some insight first about this problem, maybe I could save me some embarrasment.
Anyway, thank you very much for your answer.
Take care!

Hi again Eronius,
Seems like you are pretty smart so a browse through the previous posts should help you get more knowledge about your possible condition. Then take your new informed self to the Doctor. Chatting about your condition on this site helps to get rid of the embarrassment issue. At first I wanted to keep the whole thing to myself. I couldn't keep my discomfort from my husband and daughter. Over the past weeks I have divulged my condition to my two best girlfriends, then my sisters and finally my mother. Today I felt comfortable talking with a work mate about my anus! I am a very private, self conscious person but it has been quite liberating coming out. I got sick of trying to fob off my funny walk as a back problem. Wish you well Pia.

Hello again and thank you for your kind words. I wish you kick your condition's anus soon, and say "payback". Image
Take care, Euronius!
