Fissurectomy scheduled for tomorrow

Postby Mamalucia » 30 Jan 2013, 11:13

Im having a fissurectomy tomorrow...what were some of your experiences as far as pain levels following surgery on a scale of 1-10? I have a high tolerance for pain most of the time, I've broken bones given birth twice had stitches ect..and never cried but the fissure pain brings me to tears!! Will the post op pain be as unbearable?

I should also add none of the creams I'm on help with the pain. (Nifedipine/lidocaine and nitroglycerin)

Have not had the op....yet.... But wishing you luck and I hope it fixes you.
Just remember, stool softeners, plenty of fluids, non constipating painkillers and light nourishing foods eg.soup.

Thank you for your reply and well wishes...are you scheduled to have this surgery as well? If so best of luck!! Stool softeners haven't worked for me and fluid intake is something that's hard for me. I just can't bring myself to force fluids when I'm not thirsty which i rarely am. So hopefully my mind kicks my butt into gear with that.
