Blood on the TP

Postby Deleted User 5 » 26 Nov 2007, 16:27

Saturday my long fissure-free period appeared to abruptly come to an end,; I had a BM that produce content designed to rip me a fresh new one. I felt a moderate sting and found a thin bit of blood on the toilet paper! The first I'd seen since probably July. I have no way of knowing if it's my old fissure or brand spanking new one. My tail was sore for a few hours.
I just present this as a cautionary tale. Even after healing, there is always the possibility that a fissure can still rear it's very ugly head. I have no way to ascribe it to any particular cause, except to say that most of us may be vulnerable our entire lives. And I am happy I have stuck to the AF diet fairly close, even after a "successful" surgery, or my tail may have been already back to square one!

Sorry to hear about your sore tail. How is going to the bathroom since then? Did you eat anything on Friday that could be the culprit?

Thanks for posting about this-it is a good reminder for all of us!

Kim,
No no no. I am so sorry Are you still in pain? I know we all have to be aware of our diet and habits but that fissure can act up when ever it wants. Thanks for sharing that with us it is a good reminder.

Kim,
I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope this problem hasn't started all over for you.
hopefully the surgery keeps you from spasm and you heal up real quick.

hey kim-bo,
i think despite the fact that one may have had a successful LIS for one fissure would never eliminate the possibility or probability of ever getting another one.
i won't say i am sorry yet as i am sure you may get around this one quickly and effectively and cross my fingers that it is just a little scathing scratch that will heal very well unlike your first fissure.
so do what you need to do and hang in there!
the worst was over and it stays over!!!!!
i would guess you would see a bit of blood on tp here and there but whatever happened, it is minimal!

Thanks all you guys and gals...
The soreness left me pretty fast and I have been fine since. I had a great, stress-busting Sunday and that probably helped my mental attitude a lot!
Lecia, I really hadn't fallen off my diet much that Friday, but I had been a bit late in going to the loo on Friday, maybe things had hardened up by Saturday?
No, Patty, I haven't had any pain since the soreness Saturday! Chris, you are right, I think my cut sphincter is going to be insurance against future misery should the fissure really return. Gareth, maybe it was just a scratch, but AA, it sure was more than a gentle reminder, it's like someone walking up behind you and going "Boo!!" in a dark alleyway!!

hehe yes, I don't think 'gentle' is in a fissures dictionary.
Glad you've been fine since.
I really think that op was the way to go for you, and if mine does turn out to be a fissure i'll be joining you for sure!

Hi Patty! Wow, thanks for asking! Last monday, I had a very tough poo, to be honest! Just two days after my bloody TP (oh, it was just a tiny smidgen!) I felt a *strong* urge to go and then, I couldn't produce!! It was so bulky it just didn't want to come out!
Is that TMI? Finally it tore loose, a cannonball! I was somewhat sore and it stung slightly, but no blood. Since then I have been fine! How have you been doing?
