Saturday my long fissure-free period appeared to abruptly come to an end,; I had a BM that produce content designed to rip me a fresh new one. I felt a moderate sting and found a thin bit of blood on the toilet paper! The first I'd seen since probably July. I have no way of knowing if it's my old fissure or brand spanking new one. My tail was sore for a few hours.
I just present this as a cautionary tale. Even after healing, there is always the possibility that a fissure can still rear it's very ugly head. I have no way to ascribe it to any particular cause, except to say that most of us may be vulnerable our entire lives. And I am happy I have stuck to the AF diet fairly close, even after a "successful" surgery, or my tail may have been already back to square one!
