Re: Botox

Rachel- pretty sure it's been about a year off and on. This last time started about a month and a half ago. This time I couldn't control it or the pain.... Total agony to the point the pain almost made me pass out. My pain never let up for a minute in the last couple weeks. Ended up in the ER and an over night hospital stay cuz of the pain.
Trieditall- honestly I had no idea he was going to do it, or that they even could. So I am not sure how they do it. I found out because he told my husband while I was in recovery.

Trieditall- also they called my surgery a Botox/fissurectomy.... LIS is a different surgery if Botox doesn't work.(sorry if I misunderstood part of your post) They don't cut muscle with Botox, just inject you. I had 4 shots. I am a 33 yr old female and I really don't want the LIS either. Hoping Botox continued to work... Creams sure Didnt.

Sounds familiar! I am at that point now. No control on the pain and really getting me down. I hope you can heal. Will let you know how I go. I have been waiting 2 months for this! Did it hurt afterwards?!

Rachel1984- was swollen and out of it the first day. I haven't had any pain since having the Botox and my swelling went down fairly fast. But I have read others on the forum that are still having pain after Botox. I'm still nervous that its going to start hurting again, but trying to stay positive. :)
Good luck with yours as well

I had 2 botox shots and they did not work plus they gave me no control over my bowels and had so many embarassing accidents.tho my fissures and like alot of others mine stem from yeast and nutritional defiecencies.
have been on magnesium and washing my fissure in sea salt and my anal muscles are not so tight...fingers crossed it finaly heals

I had botox 12 months ago. At the time it was horrendous, I was in pain for about a week. But Ive then had a year being pain free. I still take senna every night and occasionally movicol. I have to watch what I eat and make sure my fibre levels are high. Until 2 weeks ago when I retore. I was ill for about 4 weeks and at one point wasnt eating and didnt take any medication and was on antibiotics and got constipated. It was one BM that did it!! Im in some pain now, but Im hoping that diet and lots of cream, Im using wheatgerm, will do the trick.
So for anyone considering botox, I would recommend it.

The results that I have read state 50-80% success, but many go on to have LIS.
There are so few Botox success stories on the Forum that I wish those that it has worked for would come back and rave about it! Image
