Shocked, but thrilled!

Postby chachacha » 16 Jun 2013, 21:13

I am both shocked and thrilled to find that there is a forum devoted to anal fissure sufferers!
I was diagnosed with a fissure a couple of years ago and it is chronic.  I am going to now spend several hours (or more), going through as many posts on this board as I can.
Thank you so much to whoever started this board and to all of the posters who are here to help, encourage and support their fellow sufferers.
I will also try to share as much knowledge as I possibly can, because even though I was only diagnosed a couple of years ago, I know now that I have been suffering with the fissure for at least ten.

That is how I found this place chachacha is funny because I knew about hems, but the word fissure was something that I never knew about until my doctor told me that all those problems I was having was due to a fissure, a cut in my butt.
Then as I was looking for fissures in the net to know how they form I end up in this site. I stay as a guess for months until I decided it was time to sign in and share my sorrows.:D This place is great and what I read from sufferers like help me calm down and ease my worries.

I second the calm down and ease worries! Diagnosed 3 years ago & I do well most of the time. Usually just a day or two a month of mild bathroom trouble. Doesn't usually carry through the day. But I would worry a little just the same. What relief to hear that it's not unusual to have a weak spot even when mostly better :o)

If you're looking for some input I'd be happy to share. I had my surgery yesterday at 3pm. My story is long, but anything you want to know, just ask :) I haven't taken a single narcotic since I've been home, only Tylenol and Ibuprofen. I feel sore, but that's about it. I had LIS and three skin tags removed. I've already made three poops. Two were more watery then I'd like and one was soft, but stayed together. I'm assuming I'll have to play around with the stool softeners to get the right consistency. Going poop hurts no worse then the constant dull soreness I've been experiencing and I think most of it is from the incision site. To be honest, I can't really feel where the skin tags were taken off.

Hi chachacha! Welcome to the board. I've just joined up recently too. I can't believe you've been suffering from fissures for 10 years! Sounds like a lifetime to me...
I hope that you'll be able to recover with all the knowledge and tips you can gain from this forum! :)At the very least you'll get help and sympathy from all of us. :D
