Not sure what to think...thoughts please

Postby Mommyof3 » 18 Jun 2013, 12:51

Hi! I could use some thoughts here :)
I have been dealing with this AF for around 4 months. Many bad days of bleeding and pain...then a few good then back to bad. Ugh! I have not had bleeding for about 5/6 weeks. Have been feeling so much better. No pain for hours and hours after a BM. Like in the beginning. Also had the itchy and burning feeling which seems to be mostly gone too. I know some of that was from the meds and my sensitive skin! Now I sometimes have a feeling of like there is something there. Uncomfortable. Maybe an internal hem or skin tag from AF? I can not see anything, not that I ever seen my AF the Dr. did. Not sure what to think. I know I should just get checked out again, but I am a bit afraid of the checking out. Last time it hurt worse for a couple days after...don't want to take steps back again.
Thanks in advance!!!!!!

Hi! It's a bit difficult to see down there even with a mirror... today I had a better look (still limited though!) at myself by taking my digital camera and taking a bunch of photos with flash. Maybe you can try that.
Of course, you should still definitely go in to see your doctor if you can!!
Best of luck to you and congratulations for your fissure being on its way to healing! :D

Hi Mommyof3,
I would vote to have the doctor check it out. I know that's not the most comforting response. BUT I can say that I was totally terrified my first visit, and I had no pain on examination. I did have "pressure" and when he "located" the fissure it hurt for a second but then was Ok.
I asked him to use a lot of lube and I actually used some coconut oil myself before hand and tried my best to breathe and relax.
So take heart, it doesn't have to be awful! Also it sounds like things are getting better for you. That's a great positive!

Mommy of 3 if your feeling better thats great news? Why upset the healing?unless your CRSis very gentle i would be afriad of set back. Also the irritation you are feeling is probally a skin tag becuase your fissure was cronic, if you give it few more months that will shrink. good luck

Yeah, I had a really really bad first exam by the GP who wouldn't use any pain relieving ointment and did a finger exam.  I almost punched her it hurt so bad.  The specialists I saw did much better, one using lube, one using lidocaine plus lube.  Not pleasant but much better and yielded important info.  I bit my finger and tried to 'go elsewhere' during the exam.  My pain was very, very severe (I'll add).  Super big AF,sentinel pile, the works!  It sucks, but good to get a diagnosis and treatment plan.  Best of luck! :D
