New cuts?

Postby smiles » 28 Jun 2013, 19:54

I have an internal anal fissure, and just recently I noticed two new external cuts. I remember having these before I got my AF, but now I feel like I am completely cut up down there :\
Also, I have a red rash and I'm extremely itchy. Are all of these things normal? I think part of the itchiness is related to healing because I think my internal fissure is healing, but I'm not too sure anymore.

My first fissure was internal and then after a few months I developed an external one (which started just at the opening and then went internal) so I currently have 2 and was only aware of 1 until my Surgeon mentioned the other.
Are you on any creams at the moment?
When I was on GTN (nitro I think in US) I had a very itchy rash around my butt which nothing would help. If you are on a cream, maybe mention to your doctor and try a different one?

Itchiness is the number one symptom of "External" fissure.  However, it could be aggravated Hemorrhoids, as well.  While a "fissure itch" is temporary and should be felt only on the day when the bowel movement is large and bulky; "Hemorrhoid itch" is permanent and will be felt everyday no matter your bowel conditions. Don't know about rash though.  It could be anything -- clothing, hygiene, cream allergy or inflammation.
To overcome itchiness, a sitz bath (hip level) with Epsom Salt for 10 minutes twice (after a BM and before going to bed) for three days should help.  Wash off the salt and apply Vitamin E gel (break open the capsule) in that area to speed up the healing. Please note, Epsom salt contains an anti-inflammatory ingredient - Magnesium Sulphate, which helps in disinfecting, cleaning, muscle relaxing, and overcoming inflammation.
"External" fissures occur mainly due to large bulky stools.   You may eat food that breaks down easily and has lots of soluble fiber.   Some gastrointestinal disorders cause poor food breakdown and absorption, which leads to large, bulky stools"

Your tummy seems to be lacking in enzymes to break down food. You may either take an enzyme supplement or find natural ways to activate the enzymes in food.   Soaking seeds/grains/nuts can activate enzymes in food.  (For example, if you need to consume brown rice or kidney beans, you may soak it for 6 - 12 hours to activate enzymes before cooking and help with digestion)
You also need pro-biotics. Please consume plenty of plain yogurt (avoid if you are lactose intolerant) - a common and NATURAL source of obtaining Pro-bio tics in your diet.
Happy Healing !

Thanks for all of the information! :) I think it might be from the Nitro cream. Unfortunately, the two doctors I have seen have been useless, so I'm really hesitant about visiting another. My internal one seems to be healing really well, which is a relief because that is the one that causes the most pain. The external ones are manageable, and I feel like they will heal quicker since they are not as exposed to stool/BMs etc.
