LIS 3 weeks after botox?

Postby Tony40 » 22 Aug 2013, 14:49

Hi,
I had a boxtox procedure 16 days ago and it has made me worse (I have posted in the General forum). I saw my doctor yesterday and he is recommending that if it doesnt improve in the next week to have the LIS surgery. Has any one had LIS so soon after the botox? Is there any potential problem with botox still being in your system?

Hi Tony,
I had LIS 8 wks after Botox failed on me. I'm surprised your CRS is recommending LIS so soon as it can take a while to kick in. If I were you I'd wait 6wks at least. I don't think it will be problem so soon either but I'd give it an extra couple of wks.
Good luck 😊

I had LIS surgery 4.5 weeks ago. I am very close to 100%. Just a little bit of irritation/feeling left. Right from day 1 the improvement was immediate. I had a little bit of pain during and after BM but I could have easily gone back to work on day 1. I waited 4 days though to be safe. I had 2 incidents of minor leakage. I am extremely happy with the outcome and have my life fully back.

Thanks for the update!
It's great to hear that LIS has worked well for you. Congratulations on getting your life back!
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!
