Went to the colerectal specialist this morning and according to him I dont have a active fissure anymore just scaring.anyone else have scaring thats causing problems and know of anyways to heal it?
Ive tried aloe vera straight from the plant and dmso and coconut oil.
I wonder if the sea salt healed it or the dialtion I had in december,who knows.
also took zinc supps for a week as I read zinc defienceny will hinder wound healing.
he said my scaring and stenosis isnt bad enough for a flap procedure,is so frustrating not being about to have proper bowel movements and anal sex.

I don't know I have scar or not so can't help u in it. what is the cause of ur stenosis?

scaring causes stenosis/narrowing of the rectum...often chronic fissure can leave scaring.

have you had anal sex since your fissure?

Hi, dilation my help with scarring if it's not to bad. Mine was bad. I let my scarring go so long you couldn't even get a rectal thermometer in there. Five weeks ago I had double advancement flaps, they removed the scar tissue and replaced it with healthy tissue. It's not a pleasant experience but I just got back from the CRS and he's says things look good. I got a great big bear hug and he asked me if I'm still mad at him. I told him not so much anymore, then he reminded me that I owe him a homemade cherry pie. I don't have to go back for 4 weeks. I got 2 new instructions, dilate once a day and smile more. If you're having a lot of difficulty with the scarring take care of it right away. Don't do what I did and wait to long. All the best Suzy

im so upset the colerectal surgeon said mine isnt bad enough for surgery cause he can fit his finger in there.
but i cant have sex or proper bowel movements anymore...he doesnt get it.

I am back to the forum again. 4 months ago I was pretty active here looking for answers and ways to cure. My condition was never really that bad. Yes, it started with bleeding and painful BM but I got to the point where I no longer bleed but it is irritating when I sit, bend down and of course anal sex.
Long story short, I did a combination of nitroglycerin ointment, 99% water (no caffeine), Palmer's cocoa butter for skin tag outside and two fish oil pills. I did this for 2 months straight AND I do anal dilation for 10mins and rest for two days and repeat.
My skin tag has shrunk and I could do anal sex without much problem. At one point, I could even fit a 6" round dildo in... so I believe I found a way to heal it... until two weeks ago when I put a dildo in too rough and I may have caused tearing. I don't know exactly how as I was also drinking a lot more "tea" (caffeine) and I stopped using nitro ointment after 8 weeks.
Long story short, I truly believe people like us need to dilate. Scarred tissue CAN be reduced. Scarred tissue is there to protect the wound but if you don't "exercise it", "massage it"...it will stay there and you will realize that your rectum becomes way too tight and we all know what tight bottom can cause - fissure.
I am a chronic AF suffer as I didn't know better. I thought anal sex is just supposed to be painful. The problem for me is I need to know the WHY AND HOW I got fissure in the first place. I don't have big "BM" and for months I didn't have much anal sex either. My AF comes and goes and I believe it is something in my diet or something I am lacking or it's some kind of yeast infection down there although I don't think I have any discharge. I don't even know what yeast infection is like. I just know people say it is very itchy. Well, my ass is itchy now from time to time but it's not a constant one and I believe my itching is caused by my skin trying to heal after I tore it 2 weeks ago.
I am just very frustrated as I healed my fissure for 2 months...and I got cocky and impatient..
