I am looking for a dr that someone is willing to personally suggest that may have had a good experience. I live right outside of NYC and am willing to go most anywhere including philly to find the right dr for an advanced flap procedure. I have had fistulectomies and LIS before and it seems to be a viscious circle of awesome pain and discomfort. So if anyone could please suggest a DR that performed the ADVANCED FLAP procedure on them, that would be great...please send an email to here or [email protected]

Hi I had VY advancement flap surgery in April but my surgeon is in Bristol in the UK and it seems he has been a pioneer in this area. It looks like a Neil Hyman at the University of Vermont who has also researched this surgery - might be worth contacting his office and seeing if he has a colleague more local to you.

Can I ask what an advance flap procedure is? I am also in the UK and been suffering for 2 and a half years! I have had botox twice (once a week ago), fissurotomy, the guy last week cleaned/curetted my newest fissure, fistulotomy on a fistula......the list is endless! Just wondering if this is something to consider as no one seems to want to do LIS on me even now :S

Mr Dixon did not even mention LIS to me - given he has been doing this procedure since before 2006 he has good experience with it. Having said that I had an anterior fissure and the stitches all burst on one side but still healed up ok now.
