I have a general question about bleeding.

I had a bm at work on Friday morning, no pain and no blood on the paper, was very happy. I had a little flatulence about ten minutes later and didn't think too much about it. Evidently it was a blood movement and stained my pants (didn't notice the dollar sized mark until i got home). Its now saturday afternoon, i have had on/off bleeding all day with no pain and I am wondering, is this normal? I have experienced the blood smear on the paper, the bloody stool etc; that's what I expected, this is dripping out of my anus and kinda freaking me out a little:( Is this normal?

Hopefully, you are now in a better position to judge whether this was just something that "happened" or whether it's something you need to seek medical advice on. I think if it was a little on/ off with not too much blood and then it ended, then possibly it was nothing too much to worry about, but obviously if it has continued, or you are getting pain, then go see a GP without doubt. Hoping you have been able to sort this out by now & it was nothing to worry about :)
