Help me diagnose

Postby Curlrip » 04 Nov 2013, 01:48

When I poop I notice a small amount of bright blood on the paper after wiping. Not heaps but about as much as if you picked a sore on your arm and wiped the blood with paper. This has been going on for near 8 weeks now I kept thinking it would go away. In the last few weeks I feel a singing pain near my ring as I'm pooping. There is nothing I can see or feel on the outside. What is this likely to be. Is it serious. What can I do to fix it.thanks

You could have a fissure or a hemorrhoid leaving blood on your tissue, or there could be another cause. But you are likely not going to get a definitive diagnosis from someone in an online forum -- you need to see a doctor for that. I would encourage you to make an appointment and get it over with. We all did at one point or another. It really needn't be embarrassing, since the doctor you will see has been trained to diagnose and treat such issues, and is the best person to determine what is causing your symptoms, and the best way to treat them.

Very much like the start of my AF. Mine got much worse in terms of pain, not blood. That's when I sought help.

Best to have a knowledgeable doc take a look. My GP looked but really didn't know what to look for in the way of an AF. The colorectal surgeon did know though I did not follow through with surgery.

Hi Curlrip,
Again, you need to get a proper diagnosis of this - If it is a fissure, the quicker you get this diagnosed and treated, the better. You do not want to leave it to develop a chronic fissure, which takes a lot of time & effort to generally heal.
If your pain is not intense and not increasing and this tends to happen now & again rather than regularly, it could be more likely it's an internal hem or two. These bleed and sting on passing BMs, especially if your stool is hard or alternatively, if you are suffering frequent runny diahrroea. I would urge you to get to a GP and just ask the questions because you really need to get anything sorted and properly diagnosed down there as soon as possible. All the best to you.......

Yeah, you better get that checked. A small amount of blood
occasionally on the stool or TP should not be too alarming.
But continually over 8 weeks, hmmm.

I would concentrate on making sure my stools were coming out
nice and soft and that I'm not straining. If you can pre-lube
with the vaseline or olive oil that should help too if its not too
far up even if its hemmy's.

GL to you
