Thanks for your responses OMB and Edel94. I do know surgery could go either way. I used to be able to push everything back inside after a BM except just a tiny tip of the skin tag. Now, if I try to do that, the entire skin tag/hemorrhoid gets squeezed very tightly (by my sphincter?), and it is very painful. There is no way to stop the pain until I have a BM and it descends outside again. So the whole thing is exposed now, and it's as large as a shriveled kidney bean. Right now I am letting it go, but if the time comes when I have had enough, I may decide to get the surgery. Time will tell.

I would take the advice of your CRS, and not have surgery on it. They can just as easily return, and you want as little scar tissue down there. I have had a couple of tags and have had them for years. I had hemmie surgery and have no intention of letting anyone do anything to me down there unless it's a matter of life and death.
