our MOM contains 415 mg magnesium hydroxide per 5ml., purified water, sodium hydrogen carbonate, oil of peppermint, sodium saccharin, glycerol. It says to take 6-9 5ml spoonfuls for a laxative but that is SCARILY too much! I was up all night on much less than that! Thanks for the 'smileys' info Leci...

Our MOM over here is peppermint indigestion medicine. It does say it relieves constipation if you take a lot of it. Thank you, I think we're all kings and queens of pain and we all deserve the title! I think the hot water causes the blood to flow better in the area(not sure!) but I think it relaxes all your muscles including the splincter muscle that needs to relax. I always bath in either epsom salts or savlon, ...

I always use ice every morning and night after a bm.I put an ice cube in a very thin sandwich bag, you know the ones you get on a roll? and then wrap a sheet of loo paper round it and apply it like thet. Then no-one can see it!!

I use wheatgerm oil which is really soothing and get vitimin E capsules which you're supposed to take as a supplement and cut them and use those. Actually, I used to use them instead of a night cream on my face and they worked brilliantly!!
