LIS in August and bleeding has returned

Hi, I had my LIS back in August for an anal fissure. I had two hemmorhoid banding procedures and a PPH procedure prior to that. Now the rectal bleeding has returned. I'm really frustrated and dissappointed. I've felt pretty good since the LIS and hadn't had any problems ...

Re: Morning, new and due sugery in 12 days but unsure?

... you're not alone. But please try not to worry! I'm not a doctor, so please take everything I say with the appropriate grain of salt. :D First - "pph" is a kind of surgery for hemorrhoids (Procedure for Prolapsed Hemorrhoids, if I'm not mistaken). It's supposed to be less painful than traditional ...

Re: Day 1 of LIS

... that's a lot going on at once! Yeah, the pain killers can be a real problem with the BM's (learned that the hard way...no pun intended...after my pph). The fiber/water stuff can really take some fine tuning to get just right too. Right now I'm eating between 36-42 grams of fiber/day and drinking ...

Re: Morning, new and due sugery in 12 days but unsure?

Hi Di, I haven't had the fistula, but I've had the pph hemmorhoid surgery and two rubber band ligations. I'm currently recovering from LIS surgery for a fissure. The pph was excruciating for me and I was out of work for nearly a month. That said I ...

Day 1 of LIS

Hi, I had the LIS surgery this morning. I've had pain and bleeding now since 1998. I've had a pph and two banding procedures for hemmorhoids which did not correct the problem. My new surgeon did another colonoscopy this morning and suspected either a fissure or surgical ...

Re: External bleeding

Lecia,
Did she recommend the PPH surgery? That is the staple surgery. It is supposed to be as effective as the traditional hemorrhoidectomy but so much less recovery time and much less pain.

Re: Could I be irritating my hemmies by inserting....

From what I understand the PPH is for grade 3 and 4 hemmies. I think banding would really help with those. At least it is worth a try. Generally, internal hemmies aren't painful unless they fall out or prolapse and get thrombosed but they ...

I am now completely exhausted dealing with this...

... is causing this or the hemmies. I only saw the CRS one time and have not went back because I chose to cancel the LIS surgery. He also suggested a PPH but said I could choose not to have it and probably be ok if I followed a high-fiber diet. I then went to a gastro who gave me nitroglycerin ointment ...
