Thanks JHH, I wouldn't want to spoil a good thing, the Movicol works well for me so I wouldn't want to change and risk a tear if it doesn't work. Everyone is different and it's good to know that I've got a good thing going right now.
Does anyone know anything about "Carlson Key-E suppositories"? Full of vitamin E, creates a lubricated area.
I read of these in a thread earlier and like the idea of them. As someone who can't lubricate internally with Vaseline, either because I'm a tight a$$ or it's a bit sore down there. I probably could however insert a suppository (aahhh takes me back to my days of thinking it was a hemmie). Anyone? Might be useful for the moving down the Bristol Scale eventually?
There's a lot of reviews for women going through menopause but there's also some AF sufferers reviews.
I even just ate some rhubarb crumble (in your face fissure!)

Sounds like the botox is working if your stools are falling out.
You said: I'm going to be worrying about how I'm going to take my Movicol without anyone asking questions...
"Hey what's that stuff?"
"Yes it's a stool softener... and YES I can't risk having a giant poop incase I tear my butt open... oh and excuse me for a minute I need to run to the loo before I poop myself, but thanks for asking"
You've shown some great sense of humor here. So what, you'll just be the butt of someone else's jokes for a bit. Better to be the butt than to still have that awful pain in it. Full disclosure might make others uncomfortable, but it might put your own worries to bed.
Someone asked about the same suppositories here before. One moderator suggested against using any supps with a fissure. You know your body. If you can get them in gently, maybe even reshaping them to be smaller if they are large, or with a more rounded tip, they will probably do wonders...but might leak.
If you get them and try them, it might be one way to stimulate a bm before work. Then again, if you were using hem supps, you have probably moved beyond that effect. I know I did!
A mini enema might also clear the way before you head to work. I know it's not good to depend on these things, but quality of life should also be taken into consideration.
Hope you have a good transition week.

Butt blog update: day 17 - Back to work.
Well... I did it. A whole day in work without pooping everywhere. Found out that I've Used up all my sick pay, but I think it was worth it. Wish I'd known it was likely to be two weeks off work, I'd have better prepared for my colleagues.
So today I Changed my routine slightly because of my work hours, but once I'm in that new routine, things should work out better. Awake at 5:30, Movicol at 6, probiotic drink too. Taking things slowly, no heavy lifting.
Had my usual break at 10 with wheatabix & strawberries then downed a load of water, topped off with a snack pack of p...p...prunes. Yes, snacking on prunes, they're growing on me, but only in the knowledge that they're soothing me back to eating crisps one day.
I was peeing every half hour which is a good thing as it keeps me near a toilet. I started to become a bit worried about my BM that was looming. Hoping to any gods out there that it wouldn't hurt me, resulting in tears.
10 minutes before my lunch break my bladder summoned me to the toilet and before I knew it, it was time...
That dreaded heavy feeling, no pain yet but theres always time... and then...
BRISTOL SCALE 5!
In your face fissure!
Image
No pain whatsoever. No pain wiping. No blood. I got up and was shocked with the lack of pain whilst standing.
I felt like crying with joy... Buuuut I had to go back to work. So I practically moon walked back to my office (well shuffled like Pingu).
I find that putting pressure on it a couple of hours later is the tough thing. Driving home from work was difficult, I may plonk a pillow on the seat to raise me botty up a bit.
Other than that... What a great day for pooping. Botox seems to be working for me now. Just need to stick with the diet. It's early days but all is looking good.
Thank you all for your support and advice. Without you guys, I'd be very much alone and making the wrong decisions.

If your pillow doesn't help, others thought I was crazy...but...I found a piece of plywood covered with a pillowcase and sitting very erectly to make driving the school bus possible with my fissure/hemmies. After surgery, I lost the need for a firm surface on which to place my sitting bones.
CONGRATS!!! on your return to work. I am so glad to have the summer off. You are brave! I'm glad you didn't have any emergencies. I had one yesterday morning...and I thought of you.
Congrats on eating the prunes too. I just can't bring myself to do it. =)

Butt blog update: day 18 - 2nd day in work.
BM came around mid day today, wasn't as pain free as yesterday and stung a little, generally it was a good one really. Bristol 6. Botox is good. Still have control over my lower muscles, having a bit of gas which is difficult to control - and has been since before surgery really.
Other than that, all is well. Slightly uncomfortable walking far after my BM, but not excruciating.
Hey Jilly what was your emergency? Hope it wasn't too bad and you can laugh about it.
I've just bought a travel neck pillow that I'm using to sit on in my car. I'm so resourceful!
But it's no plank of wood with a pillowcase.

A morning BM? Wow Edel I'm well Jel! That is one of the things I've never been in control of and have no routine. Some people can drink a coffee and poop within 20 mins. Some people eat an orange at 7 and poop by 11. Some can eat raisins and go the next morning.
It's frustrating that I have no signs, when it comes, I have exactly 2 mins to get my tush on the toilet otherwise it'll be devastating.
You're so lucky.
My office is next to a toilet so it's not too bad.

Butt blog update: day 19
Earlier BM today. Exactly at breakfast time in work. Was a Bristol 5 I think. Slight pain on the external fissure. I was a little uncomfortable sitting after that which was a shame as I was in a training session.
We were required in the ice breaker for the training to divulge something that no one knew. I considered the Botox fact because if you think about it... It's pretty amazing. How many people can say they've had Botox up their bum? Not many (apart from you lovely people).
I decided against it after and went with the fact that I'm a snowboarder. (Which I will need to be fit for by January because the food in Italy is mainly bread based).
No other news to report. Botox was good during BM. just all relaxed up there and let it slip out. I'm also aware of the gas that's passing through without my permission. Hmm... That could be embarrassing.
