Slight retear or irritation?

Postby Daisy Mac » 20 Oct 2015, 13:23

Does anyone know how to tell the difference between a slight retear and simple irritation to the scar tissue? I used to bleed and have spasms when I would have a relapse, but now when I have a firm BM sometimes there's a very tiny sting, then no pain afterwards. Maybe a bit of irritation for a few hours, but very minor. I don't know if I"m tearing slightly when this happens, or if there's just some scar tissue that's being irritated with the firm BM.

I never know what is happening with mine, Daisy, as I never look. I get the pain, and bleeding, from time to time, but just don't worryabout what it is. AFs can take ages to heal, and scar tissue is there to plague us too! :huggies:

Thanks for the reply. I guess I just desperately want to know whether I'm okay or whether I'm just one firm BM away from gut-wrenching agony, but maybe there's just no way to tell for sure.

I get exactly the same thing. Have had minimal pain, no blood and no full on spasms since July but sometimes get soreness, aching bottom and all kinds of other weirdness. Mine is linked to my period and I wonder if hormones okay a role in causing spasms and/or sore skin?! My go seems to think that scar tissue can produce all kinds of weird sensations! It always goes within a day also I think maybe it is part of the process...scary though

Mine started right before my period. Interesting, thanks for sharing!

It is odd that it is always around that time. More of a muscle soreness and then sore skin, like it is irritated and a bit burny but nothing looks different. I really feel for you though because it is soooo scary everytime anything feels even a teeny bit off. I keep telling myself I have survived sone harder poos and while there has been soreness there has not been anything worse. hope it shoves off soon!

Hi Daisy,

I've got the same issues - only difference is I'm a guy so no period!

This morning i had that same irritation you describe on BM almost to the point of a tear but wasn't as bad. no blood but minor spasms post BM.
Suffering since June 2013

Methods tried:
GTN cream - migraines!
Manuka Honey / Coconut oil / Aloe
tag excision X 2, botox x 3
Dilatiazem
dilatation 2 X daily + Retin-C Vitamin Scar Treatment Oil 2 X daily - best thing ever.
Now pain free 2/7/21

The extra sensitivity has gone-too much moisture on the bum area I think

Same thing here. My doctor told me I have healed and I was 100% normal for about two weeks. One bad BM after I have started feeling a slight sting. No blood and no spasms. Just that occasional burning sensation thatll come and go on its own and usually lasts for around 20 minutes

Sounds familiar anyone?
