Long time sufferers - whats the longest period you have been suffering? I myself am dealing with this for almost 2 years. How are you managing the pain - is it 24/7 or just partly during the day?

I've had ther three "major" fissure events with bleeding and severe pain, all of which took about three weeks to exit that "severe" stage. The first one and the latest one healed and I don't feel much of them (knock on wood) but the middle one (almost a year ago) still plagues me if my stool is not completely soft (aches the next day).
