Five days since surgery. I had my first day back at work yesterday, and it went fairly well. I'm still a bit uncomfortable sitting for long periods of time, so I just got up and walked around a lot. Had a couple of drops of blood too -- nothing major. I only took two ibuprofen yesterday.
Today I woke up just vaguely sore. I haven't taken anything yet, and I may not. I'm fighting the urge to hop on my bicycle. This is my last week of work until the new year, so I'll probably just take the bus until Friday.
Follow-up doctor's appointment on Friday. I may not post until then, but for now, know I'm very glad I did this. And recuperating nicely.

The bicycle is BIG no-no! Even sitting right now is problematic though I'm sure you must at work. Don't let the fact that you're doing so well mislead you, the incision site needs rest and as little pressure as possible!
Good luck!

And 6 weeks for the fissure itself to heal!

Thanks everyone! Yes, I'm tempted to get on the bike but won't succumb to that temptation. I'm getting up and walking around as much as I can.
As for the fissure itself, the doctor excised it. So I'm just waiting for the site to heal... right?

Oh, you had a fissurectomy then as well as LIS. Yes you are waiting for the incision to heal.
