So sorry to hear you might have another fissure but the sooner you see your CRS the better, a fissure that doesn't heal within 8 weeks usually becomes chronic. I had LIS in october and thought I might have another fissure but it turned out the pain was coming from the surgical site. The CRS said it could remain very sensitive for a very long time. Mine seems to hurt if the stool gets too formed of if I get too gassy. It's the pressure of anything pushing on the site that can really hurt. Try to keep your stools soft, I use miralax and benefiber and sitz baths with a little epsom salts in them help. I also got this medicated barrier cream at walmart (it's mostly zinc oxide) that I put on the area before and after a bm and it helps protect it from burning. I hope you heal soon and don't feel any discomfort. Good luck Suzy

I think we Miralax and Benefiber users should start a support subgroup! Image

Hey friends,
Well i went to my CRS, just to make sure that there was nothing going on. Sure enough, he confirmed that I do not have an active fissure :D
however...
after a rather uncomfortable exam...
He did say that I have some minor internal hemmorhoids, but that I am doing exactly what I should be for them, so that I shouldn't worry.
So no news is good news!
Phew! Image
