Thanks Kim! And 100% agreed! I'll do ANYTHING to get rid of this fissure, and am glad to hear that I seem to be making some progress, if only by inches at a time. Recently I could tell that the spasm seemed to be reduced, because when applying the nitro or nifedipine, I noticed that I've been able to get the finger further "up there". In fact I can get it pretty high up and don't even need to use a syringe to shoot in the ointment anymore.
The CRS did have to do a rectal exam using her finger and that irritated the area a bit last night, but I guess she has to do these things to assess progress...
Anyhow I'm definitely STOKED and have been adding a bit more solid food to my diet in the hopes of slowing down the rate of weight loss. I'm definitely going to stay on the Valium a while longer and the creams for probably waaayyy longer even if I do get substantial healing (which hasn't yet happened but I'm hoping it'll happen soon).
Babies are due within the next 2-3 weeks now and I'm just happy I don't have to worry about racing to completely fix the fissure before they arrive. At the state it's in now, the fissure is manageable so long as I'm careful what I eat and am close to a bathroom at most times :) I don't know if it's the Valium, the nitro and nifedipine, or the diet, but something is making some kind of difference, which is WORLDS better than when I first posted on this forum!
Now let me cross my fingers and hope I'm not jinxing myself now :)

Well i went to the doc on Wednesday and he prescribed me with Proctofoam which is a mix of Hydrocortisone Acetate and Pramoxine Hydrochloride. After using it my condition worsen through out the day and in the late evening my pain has gotten so bad. That i had to visit the hospital. Now i am on a few types of painkillers.

Do you have hemmy's because I do believe thats what they use proctofoam for,I do beleive hydro should only be bad for prolonged use but I never used proctofoam before and I'm not familiar with those other chemicals.Just be careful with those pain killers because they can constipate you so be on top of your fiber, stool softener and drink plenty of water.

doc told me to grab a bottle of stool softener. I am also drinking much water as can everyday. I am heading out of the country in less than 2 weeks. Since my country can no long provide the care i need. I am going elsewhere to have the surgery.

Wow Hank the universal health care in Canada can't help you any further?I hope wherever you're going to can solve your dilemma.Btw don't over do the water, just down a bottle every time you take the stool softener and don't drink more than 6 a day.

Our national health care system is garbage. I have been on the waiting list for surgery for months.

Ya I heard even if the healthcare system is free but problems like long waiting lists is the problem.Thats one of the sticking points on why the healthcare reforms here are not going smoothly(from what I watched on debate on cnn).Even if I voted Obama I'm still iffy on how health care reforms are going to affect my private health insurance. Are you coming to the U.S. for your surgery?
