Hello! AF advice is greatly appreciated

Hello All

Thank you for your time and knowledge!

I’m 50 and just been diagnosed with an AF.

I suffer from constipation and got an AF from a hard BM about 2 weeks ago. My DR prescriped Ditz cream and I was told to apply it both externally and internal. I had pain the day of the fissure and blood the next day. Blood is gone, and very little pain during BM. I had moderate pain for a couple hours after BM.

Now, no pain during BM (stool is soft), little pain after, mostly itching, some stinging with the Ditz, and fullness.

What I’m doing:

Stool softener every day.
Water intake 8-10 glasses each day
Sitz bath 3 times a day & after every BM
Increased fibre in my diet

Questions:

Is there more I should be doing?
How can I tell I’m healing (absence of pain)?

Thank you for your help!

I think you're doing all the right things to heal. It can honestly be very difficult to tell sometimes if you're healed because nerves can send confusing signals. One way is to have your doctor examine you but that comes with a risk if they are not gentle.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy
