Re: fed up

well the good news is im feeling better than i was when i made this thread. definately is an up and down process...
i have started taking movical. took me a few tries to get the amounts right, but i am now taking just one tea spoon a night. i had a full sachet a few days ago and it gave me diaria, thankfully it didnt irritate things too much though.
i am also back to religiously using the nitro, and i started using some dr wheatgrass cream. my pain is back down to a managable level, and i am determined to stay strict with diet/creams/baths/water intake/movical!!!
i have noticed my schincter is feeling more relaxed..when i insert a finger to put cream in it is feeling a lot more loose than it has done, so im feeling quite positive again. heres hoping i dont have another set back!

Aw Andy i'm sorry to hear that. I have also had a setback, as been in work mornings this week. Managed 4 days before being in agony again on Friday! Hope you feel better again soon. Are you seeing anyone about it? :)

Andy,
Sorry about your pain. That's how these stupid fissures are. You think your doing better then you are back to square one.
I know where you are coming from. I didn't want surgery either. It's not a easy choice to make, but honestly it's a good one when you have a chronic fissure. They aren't going to heal without some kind of surgical intervention. I remeber asking myself before LIS- is this the quality of life I want? I had no life with my fissure. It sucked and I for one wasn't willing to settle and let a paper tear in my a** ruin my life when there was a surgery that could fix it with a 90 something % success rate. We have to come to a point where we are willing to take our lives back and not let an ass problem rule us forever because of fear. I hope you are able to see a good CRS soon...

I totally agree with Dawn - even though I had 7 months of hell with the spasms I was soooooooo terrified by the thought of surgery there was absolutely no way on earth I was going to have it. Then fate intervened and gave me a fistula - so there was no choice in the matter, it had to be surgery. My one and only regret was not having it sooner.

hello sue, my last real flare up was about 2 and a half weeks ago.
since then i have had twinges of pain, but not full on re tears. today i have had two painful bms though and i am in some pain now ( i guess thats why im here!!!). the problem is i have recently started back at uni on a part time basis, and i have to travel 3 hours on a train there and back. so i am working full time, as well as doing university which is 3 hours away, so the last 3 weeks have been very stressful for me, and has disrupted my routine - which is why i think i have had a bit of a set back today, which is crap!
i have been reffered to see a CRS though, although im guessing that will take a while. since ive started uni again ive also had a real flare up of other problems.
i really think stress and tension is the root of a lot of my issues....
how have you been sue? are you managing to work?? any updates on your course of treatment?

Stress probably doesn't help - plus the 3 hour journeys! Gosh, glad you have managed to have some short term relief though. It's brilliant you have a referral to a CRS, at least you will see a specialist who can give you some advice. :D I'm not too bad thanks, not having problems with bm so much now but pain seems to build through the day and the week at the site of the fissure. Painkillers are my friend! Managed 3 full days in work and 2 mornings this week, and doing 4 full days and 1 morning next week, then as I'm a teaching assistant get half term the week after! Then hoping to go full time. Going to work is good too as it takes my mind off it a bit. I've got my examination under anaesthetic on 21st Nov and they said they would do botox at the same time if it's appropriate. In my pre-op going to push for it, anything is worth a try! It just won't heal that last bit. Spasms have settled a bit but still getting some, just not as excruciating. Sorry to hear you are having other problems too, I daren't say it but my other problems are settling. I really hope you get to see a CRS soon to help you, good luck for your appointment. Let us know how it goes. How's work going with you? Hope its a bit more comfy for you :)
