going to new crs.

Postby jenny2 » 09 Sep 2011, 10:37

having alot of problems still with anus. went to my doc today and told him what the old crs told me ( you should go to gastro doc because we are surgeons here) ? the doc that i went to today examined me and told me that i have alot of swelling and redness with the Skin tag. he did not tell me i had a hemm as the old crs told me. they set me up a apt with a new crs in another practice so that i can get the skin tag or hemm taken off. i am very sick of having this problem and knew that i needed this taken off as soon as possible. my appt with new crs is sept 23rd. maybe this will help me. even though i have to have surgery..

Hi Jenny,
I sure hope this new CRS appointment goes well! Wow, it's unbelievable what a person has to go through!!
I had a feeling it was a skin tag but ya know , we're not doctors and you would think they would be able to put two and two together. A fissure that's chronic usually has a skin tag Image
I had mine removed with the LIS and to be honest and from what I was told, that is more painful than LIS. So if you can handle getting that stupid thing removed, LOL- then I would go for the LIS at the same time if you are willing and able.
There really is nothing to it. It's all manageable, just sore and the pain meds will usually take care of that.
Good luck and I am praying you get a Good CRS who knows his/ her stuff!

you know dawn after what they told me the other day to go to the gastro doc ( the old CRS) it really made me mad. my husband pays 400 a month to insure us with medical coverage and i feel like the docs should be working for me. i refuse to let myself sit around here anylonger with a ice pad on my butt and miss out on life because i have this skin tag. my kids dont even have their mother to do anything with them anymore cause my butt always hurts and i am tired of it. i hope and pray this new guy is better..

I don't blame you at all for being mad Jenny. That's just crazy. The CRS is suppose to be the butt specialist and sends you to the gastro?! Image My first appointment with a specialist was with a GI and he told me I think you have a fissure, I'm going to send you to a CRS because this is not what I deal with. He knew he wasn't a specialist for butt problems and he guessed fissure- which was awesome considering I saw a CRS who told me I just had a hem...
The second CRS I saw was the best and was the one who did my surgery. Hopefully , fingers crossed and prayers this next appointment is your GOOD CRS!!
I felt the same way about my family when I had a fissure. I felt useless and I really wasn't there. I felt so guilty and robbed of my life. Image
You will get your life back with the right CRS. I'm praying this one is the one that's going to work for you! Don't forget to have your questions on paper and with you and don't leave until there all answered. I know these butt exams aren't any fun and with the anxiety we forget things we should ask. My husband had a list of questions in hand and we went through all of them before my surgery. That's where this forum came in handy for me. By the time I had my appointment to schedule my LIS and tag removal, I schooled myself on things that concerned me and with plenty of help on here, I had my questions and answers that I wanted to hear....
Good luck, and let us know how it goes!
