I use probiotics as I try to flood my gut with good bacteria. I take it last thing at night.

Hi,
I have IBS (not with constipation) and it seems to ease my symptoms somewhat.
It is one thing that my doctor said to take too.
I am going to get some aloe vera gel tomorrow (after reading your thread about healing).
I tried a hemmeroid suppository from a really good health shop - horse chestnut etc. But it made me get spasms that I hadn't had before...
It might have been the witch hazel in it.
I also bought a tonic of horse hair and horse chestnut - to promote circulation and strengthen that area - hopefully.

hi Em, oh, so u have IBS with diarrhea? What's ur symptoms?
I don't know if i have IBS, but i always have a pattern of semi-hard stools and then followed by soft loose / patchy stools a few minutes after. And i am very bloated recently, so am worried abt having IBS...
Witch hazel should have helped ur hemm and not cause spasms cos it's something moisturizing... weird. Anyway, i use horse chestnut cream and it's gd i would say.
I m not sure about taking horse chestnut internally though

I'm not sure why I reacted the way I did but it was weird that I had always wondered what people on here meant by spasms and then I got it...
I have self diagnosed IBS as I have very irregular bowel movements - very much stress related.
I'm going to start doing some form of relaxation/meditation.

ic... my CRS kept urging me to go for colonscopy to confirm if i have IBS, but i'm reluctant, cos i'm afraid of hurting my almost healed fissures and aggravate my piles too...
I do react to stress too, i would have lots of gas and i could have harder stools too... :(

I had a colonoscopy at the same time as my fistula surgery.

Hi Jenny, I havent got the chance to read up on probiotics yet... How does it work? It helps in digestion and constipation? Does it soften stools too?
