Yeah I really wish either my GP or Surgeon had suggested I take movicol a lot earlier. Neither of them even suggested it they just siad "try and keep your stool soft". So with hindsight life might have been easier if I started taking it earlier.
I still think I would have gone ahead with the LIS as it gives the fissures the best chance to heal and just couldn't take any more. I guess it's still a bit early to tell if the surgery has worked and today's BM was still painful, I needed to get straight into the bath after, but there was no blood and if it gets a bit easier each day then that's good.
I'm back to work on Friday (1 week post surgery) so we'll see what challenges that might bring!
