Hello....im new here and would love some help

Postby Denis519 » 29 Apr 2012, 02:43

Hi im Denis and I have had butt problems since i was 18 now im 23 and i have an fissure for the last year i was in School but i had to drop out due too the pain being bad were i could not go to class and i would miss a lot, lost a lot of friends and i am on the border of going in to depression. Seen the Doctor a few times about this and she has made me an appointment to see a Butt Doctor but thanks for me being in Canada its going to take me 6months to see this Doctor and i dont know if i can do that time. I have bin back asking for something faster but there is nothing she can do im stuck in line and it seems the far back of it with the pain being to the point of me going crazy.
I have changed my diet drastically but it just made everything whores, high fiber for me was hell i would go for 3 - 4 weeks in major pain straight and have 3 days with no pain. I took drastic means were i drank a lot of alcohol to pass the pain and it worked and worked well until my parents found me in a mini coma from Drinking and taking Advil witch landed me in the hospital now i cant have any alcohol in my house.
i tried smoking weed as a guy i know said it helped him but it did nothing for me.
im at the point were i dont eat anything. lost a lot of weight and lost my job.
.... dont know whats next........im lost in life knowing my life went from being at school and going after girls to sitting at home all alone in pain all the time.
If any one can help with diet or something to deal with the pain that would be great.
...

Dear Denis,
I'm sincerely sorry to know that such a young man has been in such pain and suffering. It breaks my heart.
Let me say that due the physical pain of this condition, so many of us have been taken down mentally to frightening lows, teetering on the edge of breakdowns at times. We here understand to some degree what you've been experiencing.
I'm glad to know that your parents are taking charge with regards to removing alcohol from your home...drugs and alcohol, you know, are not the answer. If anything, they can add to your problems by causing a new problem...addiction. Any drugs my friend, to assist with your pain, should be administered and monitored by a physician. TAKE THAT VERY SERIOUSLY PLEASE. Consider yourself blessed that you dodged a bullet once with the over consumption of alcohol, please learn from that dangerous lesson...we don't always get second chances.
I don't know much about NHS as I'm in the states with private healthcare, so having to wait so long for a crs is beyond my comprehention. Are there clinics or hospitals that you can go to? I'm asking this because in the mean-time, if you can get someone to acknowledge at least the amount of pain and suffering you are in, maybe they can start you on some kind of controlled pain medication to ease your suffering. Or what about the physician who got you the colon doctor, maybe she can prescribe you medication to help in the mean time.
As far as your diet, it is really important that you keep trying to find the right foods to intake, that make your bowel movements soft and consistent. Even trying fiber supplements that you mix with water like fibogel/metamucil...also movical/miralax whichever one they have in Canada, this is a safe laxative/stool softener that helps with easy passage of stool. Drink lots and lots of water...as much as you can...that's very key along with the fiber.
Sitting in warm/hot baths, several times a day, and especially after a bowel movement, for a good 20 minutes, is helpful and relieving as it relaxes the muscle that is tightening and causing you so much pain.
Oh my goodness, there are many areas on this forum that can offer you so many helpful tips and options to try to get you through until you see a specialist. Do not give up hope, this is a condition that can be managed, treated and healed...you just need to get some help through your pain, until you get to see the specialist. So I'm hoping in the meantime you can get that through some managed pain medication and the suggestions you'll find here on this forum.
THINGS WILL GET BETTER...LIFE WILL RESUME...BE STRONG......
Best Wishes and Big Hugs Image ! You'll remain in my thoughts and prayers Image

Thanks for all the info! Image i was told most this stuff by my family Dr. since i wrote this i have bin back to the Docs 3 times asking if she could move shit(lol) faster but hear hands are tied. In my city their are only 3 butt doctors for a population of 500 000 and 1 million in the county and knowing how many people have hemorrhoids and AF's and other rectal disorders 6 months seems reasonable.
As for asking something to knock down the pain She gave me this cream to use but it only knocks like 5% of the pain off, i do do shitz baths they are a great help until you leave the bath and it hurts again lol. It seems like my doctor really does not want to proscribe me something a little bit more stronger that i can us just take at night to fall asleep.
Im thinking about going to the ER and seeing if i can cut the line by 6months to see some one, ill scream and cry my head off just to see some one..its going to be a great acting gig ahaha
thanks for your help :)

Denis,
I am so sorry you are experiencing the pain that too many of us know too well. I live in new york city and have had the unfortunate experience of being "that crazy lady" having a complete emotional meltdown in the subway because of my pain intensity during one particular morning on my way to work -
I am an otherwise strong, independent, self-sufficient woman who has her "shit together" so-to-speak. however, the shit has really hit the fan since my fissure showed up last november. Since then, I have relied tremendously on this forum which as been great help - definitely read through the posts, there are lots of great information here and relied on friends and family with my pain - it was scary and unpleasant at first to reveal such details, but the ones that love you will be there for you at your lowest and worst.
As for medical attention - I am baffled and disturbed by how long you have to wait to see a specialist considering your level of pain. Is it possible for you to be seen sooner if you go to another city or county? how have your parents been in regards to emotional support? can they help guide you through some decisions as to your doctor's appointments, getting better pain medication?
Hang in there, it's often the worst at the beginning of this circus, but will get better once you get a plan in place, have your pain management strategies in place, emotional support system in place (it seems like you have a decent sense of humor, use it when leaning on your friends for support!), and medical doctors in place. In my case, I struggled with a colorectal surgeon that wasn't entirely helping me for the first 4 months, was able to get a 2nd opinion colorectal surgeon in the game at 3 months and have just made the decision to officially switch my care over to my 2nd guy . . . it unfortunately takes time to navigate through any health system. But, in your case, I would do whatever it takes to be seen sooner, including the ER considering the intensity of your pain levels. Ongoing pain that's intense enough to keep you from sleeping is significant enough to go to the ER. Lack of sleep only makes matters worse (in regards to mental/emotional sanity and tissue healing).
Good luck, hang in there, it will get better!

Denis, So sorry to hear about your suffering. Please don't give up hope. Many people on here have healed and it may take time, but you will get your life back and be able to "get girls" again :)
You will be a stronger person for having gone through this in your life when you look back on it. Hang in there!!
