Re-tear depressing

Postby connej » 21 Apr 2015, 21:24

Hi, I am 20 years old, I have been dealing with a chronic fissure for just over 2 years now.. in January it became particularly bad with extreme pain and bleeding every day.

i went to see a new specialist, he recommended that I stick to rectogesic, a laxative and metamucil for a couple of months and avoid surgery.

Everything gradually got better, to the point that I finally thought i was cured. For about a month there was no pain or bleeding, i was eating healthy and feeling better than ever.

I stopped using the rectogesic and became lazy with the metamucil, things were good for a few weeks

Just a few days ago I had a hard stool and i felt pain, the next day there was a total re-tear with as much blood as ever. Now i'm feeling depressed, after all that time getting things to heal, now it's back to square one :(

It's not something i want to be dealing with at this age, it really, really holds me back in so many ways

I just felt like i need to share my pain...

I am very sorry to hear that. Refocus on what you did initially to heal, and stick with that for a good long time, maybe always.

Hurtinend is right, go back to what cured you, including the rectogesic. It takes time to build good habits. Do you drink enough water? That's what's hardest for me. I just forget to drink!
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!
