I posted a year after my surgery in Aug, 2014. Here's the background: lis-worked-t9836.html
Here it is 19 months after the surgery and there have been no AF pain or issues. I still have some very minor internal hem issues, maybe once a week, but I had them off and on before the fissure came on in late 2013. 2014 was a tough year and the surgery in Aug 14 made all the difference. There was the usual amount of apprehension before, and it wasn't a cakewalk, but it made sense for a 52 year old male. You have to weigh the options and make the call. My biggest issue was I had some pain sitting for several months after, probably from the internal stitch healing. I also think the months of sitz baths in the bathtub aggregated the roids, but it was still worth it.
I have no regrets. I did have an experienced specialist do the surgery. The doctor who performed my colonoscopy earlier in the spring wanted to do the LIS but I went with a CRS.
