I have watched a few. Are you following his diet of celery juice to heal?

That’s interesting. Had a good cry today… I had a phone appt with my dr to see how things were going. This past week I had a little pain. I know I could still be healing but this felt like a set back. I told her and she said we might need another lis. She said because she cuts so conservatively that sometimes more is needed. She said that women have such a delicate spincter muscle compared to men so she was being extra careful. I totally appreciate that she was careful but nervous if I have to get another lis. She said because I had zero incontinence issues it would be unlikely that I would have any with a second. If I were to it would be minor. I remember her saying in the past she’s had no one with any issues after so that makes me feel better. God I feel happy but sad too. I suspected this could have been what happened from what I had read on this site. So she said to give it a couple more months then if I’m having pain to let her know. Lots of emotions today… just want this to end.

Hey Amy, sorry to hear you have some lingering pain. It’s good to know your surgeon is willing to do another lis if needed. I do believe time is a great healer and sometimes we just need to persevere. I’m almost 6 weeks out and doing ok but I do have some burning most of the day. I am ok during BM so that’s good. I am being careful. I’m not sure if I’m just hyper aware of the area. I’m not going to think about getting another surgery until at least 6 months have passed.

Thanks. Yes I’m glad she’s giving me another option. I’m going to give it some time for sure before jumping into that. Glad your doing good during a bowel movement I think that’s the most important thing. I found baths really helped me a lot with pain. 2-3 a day if you can fit it in. Really hoping it works for you.

You’ll be ok. I thought it would be a lot worse then it actually would be and it wasn’t bad. Would recommend taking restorlax the night before surgery and avoid bread or anything that will be hard to pass that week. I made a lot of smoothies and soups.
