I hear you. Half of my posts weren’t even posting so I had to keep copying and pasting them. I would tell the CRS that your worried of getting another fissure since one happened before and are in a bit of pain currently. I wrote down all my questions the second time I saw my surgeon because It’s hard to remember all of them when your there. Just a suggestion if your worried you’ll forget to ask everything.

Yep thats what i was thinking sit down pen an paper and think of anything and everything i want to ask him. How are you doing Amychristine? I'm so jealous your on the mend and also so happy for you. I can't wait till after my lis then any pain will be easier to handle because I'll be moving in a straight line towards fully healed or atleast 2 steps forward 1 step back whereas right now I'm literally going in circles like all fissure sufferers pre lis.

Thank you I’ve been good but I’m not totally sure if it’s going to work for me yet. Before surgery I’d be good for anywhere from a month to even a year one time. I do think it did help relax the area but really hope it works in the long run. I’m not trying to be negative I just think time will tell if it’s actually worked. I have doubts because of my previous set backs after surgery but hope because people on here say that can happen. For the majority of people it does seem to work though. I felt that way before getting it done and then such relief to finally go through with it. I wasn’t even that nervous on surgery day it was almost more of just feeling grateful to be getting it done. I think my surgeon really cares so I’m sure she’ll help me more if this doesn’t work. I may add I’ve been eating more veggies, fruit, protein, fats and minimal grains and it’s really helped me. Quinoa and gf bread don’t seem to bother me but I don’t eat them at every meal. I am allergic to dairy and gluten so those can contribute to fissure pain for me. It sounds like your getting mentally prepared for surgery which is great. When you’ve tried everything else I think it’s time to go ahead with it.

I had to go through a few surgeons before finding one who would do the LIS it’s such a pain. I took things into my own hands and started calling around to see who performs the surgery regularly. The surgeon I chose I actually found on a google search and she had such good reviews on her skills and mannerism. Do you just rotate between CRA’s at that office? I understand why you would just wanna go to one I would be the same. Do you know if any of them do the surgery? If not you could always ask the receptionist like I did. If you go with a private clinic will you have one of those same CRS or will they be completely different? Just curious how things work there. I hope one of them does it for you.

It’s just us two left Missy moo, to go through with lis. It seems as though you’re getting closer. You’ll be fine at your appointment. I also don’t think they should be putting anything inside(finger or scope) while you have an active fissure! It does not make any difference. My current surgeon never did that, she just took my history and went off that. I had to give myself an enema and suppository before my latest eua. It hurt!
Amychristine, yes I had a flap done 1 year ago. It was a horrible recovery and I never felt fully healed. About 5 or 6 months after, I got healed to about 95% before this current episode. I even got a new job and was managing but I needed/wanted to go in for an eua to determine what was stopping me feeling 100.

So the health system here is free an the surgeons that work in the hospitals most work for the system an private so i could end up hoing private an having a surgeon i may of had for free anyway but if i go through the public helth system i mite get someone who isn't the best an doesn't do many p8s or work in a private clinic or habe tons 9f specialist experience. If i go private i can be fussy an pick an choose who i want and even have one of one direct contact with my surgeon. The problem with public health system is i mite meet am won't 1 surgeon bit then on the day get someone completely different that terrifies me what if they aren't very good what if I'm their first lis

I can see why you’d want to go private missy. Maybe they’d even be able to do it sooner too. Suffering2long I think my surgeon only did because I wasn’t in pain at the time and she wanted to check my tone down there for surgery, also to feel if there were any abnormalities. I think you’d likely have a better chance at healing with a LIS. I know it’s hard when a surgeon wants to try something else first. Crossing fingers for you both. I wonder how Phoenix is doing?
