Val is also undergoing the Anal flap surgery, sometime soon i hope.
If the resting pressure is low(usually after delivery),flap surgery is the choice and also when LIS fails.
My crs told me it could leave me in pain for weeks after the surgery but didnt specify how long.
Good luck

Day After Surgery

Postby KerrBear » 12 Mar 2009, 08:13

Well- yesterday was the big day. I went in for my 2nd LIS and anoplasty (advanced replacement flap). Surgery lasted about an hour and Dr. said the fissure was deeper than expected and that was why I was in so much pain lately. I have been on heavy pain meds and cannot get out of bed yet. Anytime I stand up the pressure in my rectum is really painful. I am able to eat soup and drink alot of fluids. I have not had a BM yet and I plan on it hurting when I do! My rectum is packed with gauze and Dr. said it will come out with a BM. So-that is where I am at right now. I will write more later. All I know for sure is that this surgery is more painful than the first LIS. Probably because I had anoplasty too. Will write later! Image
