I know I felt way more comfortable much quicker with the Botox but it never achieved any healing well nothing significant. The LIS has managed 40% after 5 weeks but those 5 weeks have been pretty tough.
Maybe if your starting to heal then your surgeon might consider another Botox....mine said if a miracle had happened and I was 60% healed from the Botox then a second Botox would be the best option....but I didn't even manage 10% so....it's really strange though as I only had 2/3weeks of moderate pain then some stinging and burning by week 8 it was just 10/20 mins of slight discomfort with the Botox but with the LIS it's been serious pain yet I still have managed some healing....go figure lol.
When is your next appointment?
But then again lots of people on here have LIS and after 2 weeks are back to normal with very little to no pain...the awful thing is you don't know which you will be until you have it done

It's mad how it all works I guess the one good thing is that you are healing because it would be a lot worse you going through 5 weeks of pain for nothing! I really hope you continue to heal and it will be the end for you because feeling like your never gonna reach the end is so depressing.. my appointment is on the 10th of Jan I'm not convinced it will heal I've had a re-tear already and it's been 5 weeks I feel like the Botox is wearing of slightly though but could be just the pain from the tear

Oh gosh yes I agree if I hadn't been healing I was more than prepared to chuck a tantrum and refuse to eat till they agreed to a temp colostomy but thankfully I didn't need to do that lol....yes it does get a bit much think you have to go through it to realise how absolutely draining it can be.
Oh you have nearly 4 weeks who knows if the IBS behaves then you could get some healing...isn't it annoying having bowel issues at this time of year though...I literally want to drown people in their mulled wine...while throwing all the lovely food their eating at them lol

I did that too lost 2 stone in like 7 weeks, It really does bug me knowing there is no way I can have even a little glass of sherry or a mince pie...would go straight through me. It like watching a party from outside a window you can see and hear everything but you just can't join in....I love Xmas food a lot I was very overweight before this and one Xmas got through a block of Stilton on my own at a party (no fissure didn't care about going to the loo loads) now I just walk up and down the cheese isle and party food idle trying not to cry....think my local Morrisons believe I have serious issues lol

lol I can't eat any dairy either but I used to always eat cheese anyway I didn't care what it did to me but now after this fissure I dread going to the toilet so I think about everything I'm eating! Feels like a life time ago when I had no worries it's quite sad really when I think about it

Oh I know exactly what you mean I was quite prepared to go to the loo 15x for a good cheese and wine night. Now everything I put near my mouth has been analysed to within an inch of my sanity. I look back fondly on days when I went out for meals all the time and ate what I wanted. I have accepted that even if this LIS surprises me and I heal completely I will never be able to eat like that again....it is sad but nothing not even my beloved cheese could make me risk this kind of pain ever again
