An unexpected success... fixed my ‘healed’ chronic pain

Postby Fissurefrustration » 03 Mar 2020, 05:31

Hey all,

My diary is in the diary section but my history goes back for years battling these stupid fissures. I was marked as healed by my crs a few years ago but the pain from the scar tissue just felt like a fissure and flared up every few months.

On a whim I’ve tried Palmers cocoa butter formula with added vitamin E. it’s thick and feels great, I add it twice a day and I’ve not had pain with a bowel motion for around a month.

I won’t count my chickens before they’ve hatched but I’m so relieved I’ve been pain free for a month.

Ff
Suffering since June 2013

Methods tried:
GTN cream - migraines!
Manuka Honey / Coconut oil / Aloe
tag excision X 2, botox x 3
Dilatiazem
dilatation 2 X daily + Retin-C Vitamin Scar Treatment Oil 2 X daily - best thing ever.
Now pain free 2/7/21

Kind of a weird idea at first glance, but hell. I think sometimes we are willing to try anything.

I've posted an update in my diary, but as a short summary - I tore open again only the scar tissue last week with a super hard BM that wouldn't move. no blood but my goodness the pain was awful. So I went back onto nifedipine twice a day, once the stinging stopped I've been dilating twice a day with cocoa butter and have been using a vitamin c/e scar repair cream I found online and this morning I had my first painless poop - it was mind blowing not to be in pain.

Hey OMB. It was prescribed by my GP. It’s in a twist tube and I’ve still got it in my cupboard. Sex still causes a small flare for me so have to go back on that afterwards for a bit.

So sorry to hear you’ve torn again :( was it a bad one? I hate the feeling when you tear and you know it’s a huge step back. So gutting.

Big hugs x

Sorry to hear you still have trouble after sex. It doesn’t tare fully open though does it?

I will ask my dr to prescribe me some nifedipine when I speak to her later. I’ve never tried it and couldn’t get on with the diltiazem.

I don’t think it’s a bad one, but the coccyx pain along with it is awful.

My dr had trouble bringing up the nifedipine… she’s not sure she can prescribe it… she said she will look into it.
I was always told it wasn’t licensed to use over here in the uk… but that was a few years ago now.
Do you tolerate it well?
