Best 'barrier' to protect AF during BM

Postby Bum_UK » 09 Apr 2017, 07:41

My fissure re-tore eleven days ago after three years of pretty much normal life. I'm using diltiazem cream twice a day. The most painful part of the BM now, after the initial opening of the extremely tight muscle is the stool on the fissure before I've cleaned it off. It only hurts like crazy for maybe a minute or two until I've cleaned off. I've attempted to use Vaseline to provide a protective layer on top of the fissure but it doesn't seem to work. Does anyone here have any suggestions about what to use as I assume this is a fairly common problem?

I use aquaphor which is like Vaseline, but I've stopped it and I haven't seen a difference. It still rips back open reguardless :(
