Post LIS discharge

Postby Corsi » 15 Mar 2009, 06:15

I know it is common to have discharge after LIS, and some of my very good AFSF buddies have been educating me on the topic Image
If you have had LIS, did you have discharge? For how long? Anything else?
I am talking discharge here, not poop, but don't mind sharing post LIS poop related questions as well Image

I guess because it's sunday we aren't getting many visits, Corsi!
I may have had some slight discharge in the days immediately after my LIS. It does seem I recall looking in the toilet and seeing a think, clearish discharge, but justa small amount. I really don't remember having it "leaking" from the rectum.
Are you having this and to what extent?

Corsi -
I did not have discharge besides normal blood post lis. However, when I had my hemmies removed the previous year, I had mucus (clear) for months. My doctor said the mucus formed to make a barrier over the wound to prevent infection.
What your discharge like?

I have discharge, have had it since LIS. It has changed colour, red/pink in the beginning, but now more white. No smell, no fever, don't feel sick.
The hospital told me it was normal, and that it could go on for 2 - 3 months or even longer. Normal or not, I wish it could go away :)

Corsi -
As long as it is not pussy or a foul odor, try not to worry. Just make sure you get it checked out frequently by your doctor & monitor it EVERYDAY yourself. Can you tell where it is leaking from? I want to say my discharge (the stuff I said was clear) was egg whitish from time to time, and even slightly brow from BM's. You can read some of my really old threads...it totally freaked me out so I know what your going through. Just keep an eye on it! maybe your doctor will put you on some anibiotic such as flagyl just in case.

That's how mine is too. I don't want to take antibiotics unless it is neccessary, the western world is using too much of that stuff...bacterias are becoming resistent.
I am checking it, I'm not seing my CRS before June 2nd.
Thanks for responding Jen Image

Corsi dear, just relax. Listen to Jen : ))) ! She dealt with slimy alien stuff herself and became expert in recognizing all shapes and forms of it , so yes, I absolutely agree - as long as it is not smelling like the "road kill" , is not green and yellow like stuff that comes from infected sinuses ( sorry for the "visuals"), and you do not have fiver and feel like coming down with flue - you are safe and no need to worry :paddysmiley1:
Of course it is annoying Image - but IT WILL be gone very soon. I do not think it will last couple of months - more like couple of more weeks , if at all !!!!
MAY THE MUCUS BE GONE NOOOOOOOWWWW LOL ( I wish we have the wizard emoticon : ))
PS: Western world must use antibiotics or we will still have plague and cholera ruling the East and the West LOL You not using antibiotic will not make any difference in a "big picture". Resistance is more attributed to massive usage of antibiotics in cow and poultry feed and TONS of that is ending in our food chain as well as in environment as a by-product : (((
Also , improper use of antibiotics by patients can cause resistance of their particular bacteria that attacked them - like starting the treatment and stopping before allllll meds are consumed !!! That is just the perfect way to develop a new strain that is completely resistant to that antibiotic Image
Best natural antibiotic is GARLIC !!!! It kills the most of the bad guys as well as candida and other yeasts (clinically proven). You might consider eating it in a fresh form or taking supplements - it will keep in check your GI flora as well as Gyn region.

Corsi - That is such a long time to wait for an appointment, but it will be ok. The only thing you can do now, is wait for it to heal, and no appointment will help speed up that process.
I totally agree with you guys about the overuse of antibiotics. It was just a suggestion. If you did have a slight infection (which I don't think you do), it is best to clear it up before it got out of hand. I am sure you are fine though, considering this same thing happened to me.
Fissy - That is very interesting about the garlic! I am glad I cook with fresh garlic practically daily! You always know so much about these natural remedies - I love to hear about it! :paddysmiley1:

I can call my CRS whenever I want to, but the appintment is in June. I actually thinks it makes sense because fissures need time to heal.
I know Jen, I would take antibiotics if I need to, but doctors here are very restrictive.
I searched your old thread, but I couldn't find discharge stuff Image only football size poops
