No I quite agree I don’t really understand it and I challenged my CRS with this exact question. He said it would help the fissure to heal and “would I get you to do something which would make it worse” he said!! Oh gosh who knows. I am just going to try it as it doesn't want to heal after a year of pain…but I don’t feel any better yet…I have read all the dilation success stories and I think of them when I’m struggling through it all.
AF following skin tag surgery Feb 2022
GTN ointment
sigmoidoscopy & EUA Sept 2022 no fissure found
2nd opinion Jan 2023 fissure diagnosed, diltiazem - allergic
recommended Botox Fissurectomy
3rd opinion - dilation 2x per day plus GTN ….
