Thanks for checking in Becka - been a bit tough, but hopefully will be on the other side soon. I started a diary if you're looking for the details

But you may want to avoid reading it, I'm not a prime example of recovery lol. Most people seem to have a much easier time of it, but my body is putting up a fight ha.

I really hope you're doing ok, hang in there.

Well I think you will feel better pretty soon after, especially if you are sore now. The incision site is painful and swelling is causing me lots of problems BUT the usual pain from the fissure isn't really a bother anymore. A sitz bath or ice cuts the pain pretty quick now. I think that you'll probably get a bit of relief right away, judging from my experience!

Everything is very swollen and tight - although I don't feel as though I'm having spasms there's not much of an "opening" when I try to go, if that makes sense - I think all the tissue around is swollen and I have a couple hemorrhoids that are swollen also. But the pain is very clearly from where the stitches are - on the right side for me.

I have a follow up in 5 weeks, but there's a nurse I can talk to as needed. I was told if I have fever, unusual discharge, or significant increase in pain to return to the hospital ER in the meantime.

Oh you poor thing! Have they given you anything to help with it or are you just using ice?

I use ice a lot and it certainly takes the pain away! I'm also taking an anti-inflammatory called Celebrex I think. Just counting down the days until it improves!
